Oh, glorious, wonderful chocolate: let me count the ways. The raw cacao bean is one of nature’s most fantastic superfoods. It is the best natural food source for many nutrients including antioxidants, magnesium, iron, chromium, manganese, zinc, vitamin C, and omega-6 fatty acids.

Now, note to all chocoholics out there: this does not include our regular supermarket varieties. You want to look for raw organic cacao products including beans with the skin, without the skin, cacao nibs, powder butter, and paste.

Add them into your favourite beverage including coconut water, teas, smoothies and nut milks, or sprinkle nibs on your favourite desserts instead of chocolate chips. Eat them raw as a snack food in a trail mix, or include powder in any of your deserts.
