I am currently on the couch healing from surgery as I write this newsletter to you. I have the necessary healing requirements needed for any convalescing period as you can see by my photo.

I have learnt the hard way that when life forces you to slow down then slow the hell down and see it as a gift. When I was diagnosed with stage 2 Adrenal Fatigue a few years ago I fought tooth and nail against the fact that I literally had no energy to do anything.

I think we have gotten so used to our bodies ability to rise above the abuse we heap on it morning, noon and night that when it turns around and say’s, ‘ no more shit head, I need a break’, we freak out. My freak out looked like guilt and shame for not being able to work, for others it may be anger or denial. However it manifests for you, the secret is to surrender.

Now surrender may seem like an unusual word for some, you may think it means giving up and losing. One of the biggest lessons I learnt when I was on my sabbatical of wellness was that surrender means letting go of. It is in the letting go that the miracle unfolds. We loosen the grip, which contributes to the pain, and frustration and we melt into the softness of acceptance.

With acceptance brings peace, our internal bodies can start to do their healing magic. The gift is the alchemy of renewal. This cannot happen when we do not pause. It is in the pause where our greatness is revealed. I call it ‘Selah’. In my book, The StressLess Revolution, I describe how ‘Selah moments’ transform lives.

We have forgotten to pause and it is not until our bodies force us to stop altogether that we realise just how much we push and force and struggle and strive for everything in life.
